Aurea Floral Design is a floral design studio led by Teresa Tibbets that specializes in wedding and events in Wyoming and beyond. Teresa embraces the use of local and seasonal flowers by using blooms from her flower farm, Dandelion Farm, along with those foraged in the deserts, fields, and forests near her home of Lander, Wyoming.
In 2015, Teresa entered the floral industry, when her love for biology and art became a passion for floral design. “The flowers found me”, she says. In addition to working with flowers, Tibbets holds degrees in biology from Arizona State University (BS) and the University of New Mexico (PhD). Her love for studying and teaching biology has now spilled into development of botany and floral design workshops and a distinctive perspective on floral design. “I draw my inspiration from nature, from wild places and gardens, not trends,” she says.
“Every bouquet tells a story”, she says, “each one is unique, just like each bride.” Teresa works one-on-one with each of her clients to ensure the flowers are a reflection of their vision, never creating the same design twice.
Teresa lives in Lander, WY with her husband, two sons, a dog, a cat, and three chickens. When not working in the garden or studio, you can find her hiking on a nearby trail, or on a travelling adventure with her family.
